First Look: Dollar General launches new, more upscale store concept

Dollar General's new concept will target up-scale shoppers searching for a bargain. Their stores average about 9,000 sq. ft. and will feature a non-consumable merchandise mix such as seasonal and home decor, heath and beauty essentials, cleaning supplies and more. According to Chain Store Age, nearly all "Nearly all – 95%   on the items are priced at $5 or less."
