Amazon And Walmart’s New Checkout Systems And The Big Battle Coming At Retail Point-Of-Sale

Walmart and Amazon are increasing their use of self-checkout and contactless payment systems. Walmart's new subscription based program Walmart+ allows members to use mobile devices to scan products, pay, and walk out. Similarly, Amazon Go stores have software that sees what you carry out and charges your account as you exit. This system has been in place for three years but now Amazon is introducing a "pay-with-you-palm" system. You wave your hand over a device and it charges your account.
